Any big plans for the weekend? We’re going to see the Star Wars on Saturday.

My plans are to spend some time with the kids, spend some time with my GF, wrap a bunch of gifts, finish configuring a new PC I recently got for my living room (to replace an old decrepit one) and some cooking and cleaning.

I’m not so much of a bar person any more. But I am enjoying a good brew. Holy shit this is good.

Wife’s birthday is tomorrow, I’ve made reservations at a place. 8pm ( all they had yesterday)  .. so fancy, I hope I don’t fall asleep.

Sunday is a get together at my mom’s for her family & cousins. My homeless uncle will be there.

Tomorrow: pre-Christmas Costco run. I plan to arrive before they open to fill up , sprint in and out, and be on my way. Then gift card shopping, skates need sharpening, then time to go home and veg.

Sunday: haircut, likely little else.

If you want to have kids, my advice would be not to wait too long. We waited for me to get a job, and then that didn’t pan out. Long story. But I’m older now, with younger kids, than I would have liked. Not as old as some, but I would like to have started about 7 years earlier.

Well, Im 35 and shes 33. I know my folks were 32 and 30 when I was born (my sister came 4 years later) and my dad always said he wished they’d had kids sooner. But I dont know if I feel ready. And my wife and I both have some medical issues that may complicate having/ raising kids. I just don’t know some days.

Plans for this weekend:

1. Clean house. Its a mess and guests coming soon.

2. Put Jaguar back together - Heater core replacement surgery appears successful (no leaks!), just need to put steering column and scuttles back in

3. Finish plannig Christmas Eve service at church and practice for it.

I just got the music sent out for the brass quartet today. I’m about a week behind where I’d like to be, but they’re good readers and the music is not hard. I’ ve been using IMSLP for brass quartet music for years. I usually download the Finale files and reformat it.

What the hell? I live 20 blocks from the Heileman’s O ld S tyle B rewery. Actually last night sat 2 seats down from and had a nice converation with the Heileman’s brewery’s founders gr andaughter at our Symphony Concert.

I see snow but there are no whitewashed brick builings in LaCrosse. Where and when was this taken?

Ps . We s aw our symphony last night. T hey did a fine first half including appropriate holiday music and P rokofiev piano concerto. We skipped the ballet performers in the second half. Tonight we went out to eat and saw Christmas lights.

See the caption: Pierre, SD, 1940. Last time I drank Old Style was in the right field bleachers at Wrigley about 20 years ago. Boy, did I get hammered. And the Cubs lost, which made it a complete experience.

I love me some Prokofiev. One of my favorite composers. HIs 5th symphony is fantastic, and a blast to play, even for the 3rd trumpet.
